The
Joint Task Force on Operation Restore Order (ORO) said it had recovered arms and ammunition after raiding the residence of a suspected terrorist in Maiduguri.
This is contained in a statement issued by the JTF
spokesman, Lt.-Col. Sagir Musa, in Maiduguri.
He said: ``the JTF has conducted a follow up
operation at the residence of a wanted key
commander of the Boko Haram sect in Bulunkutu-
Lawanti Area of Maiduguri metropolis.
``The raid was carried out on Monday and three AK
47 rifles and other incriminating items were
recovered from the residence,’’ Sagir added.
Other items recovered included, a 306 x 7.62 mm
Special Ammunition, 39 Primed Improvised
Explosive Device cans, six empty magazines and
one HP laptop computer containing précis on
preparation of IED and chemical weapons.
It stated that a notebook containing names of
suspected Boko Haram members was also found at
the residence.
``A notebook containing names of suspected Boko
Haram members, indicating those already dead,
was also found at the residence,’’ the News Agency
of Nigeria quoted the JTF spokesman as saying in
the statement.
According to the statement, 54 different GSM phone
sim cards, 40 IED remote controls, 20 assorted
electrical switches and 50 motorcycle battery
chargers were recovered.
