Woman Remanded in Kirikiri For Murder

Forty-nine year-old Josephine Jacob, who allegedly
strangled a neighbour to death, was, on Tuesday,
remanded in prison by an Ebute-Metta Magistrate
Court in Lagos.
Magistrate Joy Ugboimoko said that the court
lacked jurisdiction to try the case, and ordered that
the defendant remain at the Kirikiri Prisons pending
legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution
(DPP).
The police prosecutor, Babaji Ishiaku, earlier told
the court that the accused strangled the deceased,
Margaret Safi, 58, who was also her church
member, following a quarrel between them.
He said that the incident occurred on August 19,
2012 at the deceased’s residence on Omolore
Street in Shasha area of the state.
Josephine is facing a one-count charge of murder,
and her offence was said to have contravened
Section 221 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos
State, 2011.
The magistrate adjourned the case to October 3,
pending the DPP’s advice.

Now on a serious note I'm thinking on what will make this woman commit such crime against a fellow church member.
